Award for Ruben!
Congratulations to Ruben Strässle for winning the ETH Medal 2025!
Ruben Strässle wins the ETH Medal for his outstanding Master’s thesis on “Parallel Adaptive Mesh Refinement for Finite-Volume-Based Discrete Kinetic Models”. He received it during the Master's Ceremony 2025. His work resulted in a scientific external page publication in the Journal Physics of Fluids.
The ETH Medal is awarded as distinction for outstanding Master's theses. Prerequisite are a grade of 6 for the thesis, an average final grade of at least 5.25, and a written endorsement from the thesis supervisor. In addition to scientific excellence, the award committee also considers aspects such as the innovative character of the thesis, the choice of an independent research approach, or the contribution to the group's research efforts.
